Zac Matchups Overview
Zac General information
Zac tips and tricks
Group and play around your Ultimate R. Zac’s kit is very good in team fights and he can easily chain CC with it. Before going in though, always make sure your team is ready to follow up and go in with you.
If the enemy laner is freezing, you can look to use your Ultimate R in the mid lane and get a kill. Zac has lots of kill pressure for a tank and can get his allies ahead through roaming.
Go for short bursty trades often to get the enemy low. Avoid committing to a fight in the laning phase as you cannot win them. Once you’ve got your first item, you will be able to go for extended trades.

The Best Zac Builds, Runes and Items for Top in Emerald +
Most Popular
If you want to use the most popular Zac Top build, you should take Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells. For runes, you should pick Grasp of the Undying as your keystone, followed by Demolish, Second Wind and Revitalize in the primary tree, as well as Last Stand and Legend: Haste in the secondary tree. For rune shards, you want Attack Speed in offense, Health Scaling in flex and Health Scaling in defense, though it depends on the matchup. Finally, for your items, you should build Sunfire Aegis as your first item, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Thornmail. For your last 3 items, you should build Spirit Visage, Unending Despair and finish with Jak'Sho, The Protean. For the skill order, you want to stick with W - E - Q. Right now, this build has 54.1% winrate over 148 matches played.
Situational Zac Runes and Items
Depending on the context of your game, your matchup, and enemy champions, you might want to consider building some situational items or take specific runes. Carefully examine your team, enemy team, game state , and your matchup to plan your Zac build accordingly! For example, when it comes to rune shards, you might want to take either Armor or Magic Resist, depending on which champion you are about to lane against.
