Well, it’s the time of year for flu jabs once again, since I was placed on the ‘at risk’ list last year by my GP surgery, I have had to make an appointment for the combined flu/swine flu jab. I have an appointment just after six at night this Wednesday.
Lovely.
The needle itself is only a slight stinging scratch and only last a few seconds. Pity the same can’t be said for the after-effects.
I bruise very easily and the flu jab while quick and relatively painless the bruising I suffer from for weeks afterwards is no picnic. Last year I had two separate jabs. Both made my upper arms stiff and sore within a couple of hours and then the bruising started and spread. By two days later I had bruising from my shoulder blades all the way down to my elbow covering the whole upper side of my arms. My arms became so painful I couldn’t stand clothes touching them, and the heat coming from them I could fry eggs on it I wanted.
Luckily, as it’s combined this year, it will be on one arm instead of two. Real question will be if it takes over a month to completely clear up.
